πŸ“Š Market Pages

Olympus provides detailed market pages for every Polymarket event. Whether you're researching before following a leader or manually placing trades, these pages give you all the tools you need.

πŸ” Finding Markets

You can access any market page through the global search bar in the header. Start typing a market name or topic to find events.

Once you find a market, click on it to open the full market detail page.

πŸ“ˆ Price Chart

The price chart shows the historical price movement for any outcome.

Features:

  • Multiple Timeframes: Switch between 1 hour, 24 hours, 1 week, 1 month, and all-time views.
  • Outcome Toggle: For binary markets (Yes/No), switch between viewing Yes or No prices.
  • Buy/Sell View: Toggle between bid and ask prices to see what you'd pay vs. receive.
  • Hover Details: Hover over the chart to see exact prices and timestamps.

πŸ“• Order Book

The order book displays current buy and sell orders in the market.

Key Information:

ColumnDescription
PriceThe price level for orders
SizeNumber of shares at that price
TotalCumulative shares up to that price level

Using the Order Book:

  • Green rows (Bids): Orders from buyers willing to purchase at that price.
  • Red rows (Asks): Orders from sellers willing to sell at that price.
  • Spread: The gap between the highest bid and lowest ask indicates market liquidity.
  • Depth: More orders near the current price means better liquidity for larger trades.

⚑ Live Trades

Watch trades happen in real-time. The live trades feed shows every buy and sell as it occurs.

Trade Information:

  • Side: Whether it was a buy or sell.
  • Price: The execution price.
  • Size: Number of shares traded.
  • Time: When the trade occurred.

This is useful for understanding market momentum and seeing what other traders are doing.

🎯 Multi-Outcome Events

Some events have multiple possible outcomes (e.g., "Who will win the election?" with many candidates).

Outcomes Tab:

  • View all possible outcomes sorted by probability.
  • See volume and liquidity for each outcome.
  • Click any outcome to switch the chart and order book to that market.

Event Mode Trading:

  • Select which outcome you want to trade.
  • Choose Yes or No for that specific outcome.
  • The trading panel updates to show the correct prices.

πŸ’Ή Trading Panel

The trading panel on the right side lets you place orders directly.

Panel Features:

  • Buy/Sell Toggle: Switch between buying and selling shares.
  • Outcome Selector: Choose which outcome to trade (Yes/No or specific outcomes for multi-market events).
  • Amount Input: Enter how much you want to trade in USD.
  • Price Preview: See the estimated shares you'll receive and the average price.
  • Slippage Warning: Alerts you if the trade might experience significant slippage.

Note: Manual trades from market pages are separate from copy trading. Your copy trading bot handles leader trades automatically.

πŸ›’ Order Types

Olympus currently supports Market Buys, Market Sells, and Limit Buys. (Limit Sells are coming soon!)

Market Buys

  • How it works: You buy immediately at the best available price.
  • Why use it: You want to get into the position now, regardless of a small price difference.
  • The Cost: You "cross the spread," paying the higher Ask price to buy from a seller. In volatile markets, this spread can be wide, immediately putting your position at a slight loss.

Market Sells

  • How it works: You sell immediately at the best available price (hitting the Bid).
  • Why use it: You want to exit the position immediately to secure a profit or prevent further loss.
  • The Cost: You sell into the lower Bid price. Just like buying, exiting via market order means crossing the spread, effectively receiving slightly less than the "mark" price.

Limit Buys

  • How it works: You set the exact price you are willing to pay. Your order sits in the order book (on the Bid side) until a seller matches it.
  • Why use it: It creates "Maker" volume and allows you to determine your entry price.
    • Slippage protection: You never pay more than your limit price.
    • Spread savings: You avoid crossing the spread. Over hundreds of trades, paying the spread kills PnL. Limit orders let the market come to you.
  • The Risk: If the price moves up quickly, your order might never fill, and you miss the trade.

πŸ“± Mobile Experience

Market pages are fully responsive. On mobile, use the tab bar to switch between:

  • Trade: The trading panel.
  • Chart: Price history chart.
  • Book: Order book.
  • Activity: Live trades and your positions.

πŸ’― Tips for Using Market Pages

  • βœ… Check Liquidity: Before trading, look at the order book to ensure there's enough liquidity for your trade size.
  • βœ… Watch the Spread: A tight spread (small gap between bid and ask) means better prices.
  • βœ… Monitor Live Trades: Large trades can indicate informed traders or whales moving.
  • βœ… Use Timeframes: Zoom out to see the bigger picture, zoom in for recent price action.
  • βœ… Compare Outcomes: For multi-outcome events, compare probabilities across all options.
